Turkish Ski Federation Aims For Medals In 2026
Turkey’s Ski Academy has installed two brand new SkyTechSport simulators at Istanbul’s Çekmeköy. Here is the training centre for the Turkish Ski Federation.
Its President Erol Yarar stated that their goal was to prepare 4 million skiers for their country in view of the Olympics 2026, which Turkey hopes to win the chance to host.
The Leader Simulator with 3 plasmas along with our top model — Olymp with a panoramic screen, — are the way to transfer ski training to the city, something Yarar had been longing for for years.
“It’s happening for the first time in history. Everyone who wants to start skiing can come to our centre without travelling far away to the mountains. We introduce kids to the sport starting at the age of 3. At this age, skiing is not more than a game. Serious athletic and ski training starts at 12. We are now focused on getting a number of medals in this sport in 2026."
“We are a federation aiming to give Turkey 4 mln new skiers. Now one can ski comfortably, in a safe and warm environment, and there’s just one obstacle to overcome — that of Istanbul’s traffic. Now we can truly say:
SNOW ON MOUNTAINS,
FEET IN THE CITY"
